My name is Laura,
I’ve been running Dinky Doodlers for over 12 years and to say I live & breathe teaching art to children would be an understatement!
Dinky Doodlers isn’t a franchise - just a tiny independent business (me!) with a genuine passion for inspiring children's creativity and a love of art! In addition to teaching every session, I handle all the admin and most importantly develop the art projects and curriculums that our class members enjoy exploring each term.
When I’m not in the Art Room teaching or testing out exciting new Art Club projects, I can usually be found buried in my own art, textile or dress making projects at home - I’m definitely someone who feels a strong urge to create! It’s sharing that love of making with others though that I really enjoy. Seeing a child’s confidence grow alongside their art ability, or hearing those exclamations of “wow” as they try something for the first time is pretty hard to beat. Before Dinky Doodlers, my earlier working life was spent in creative industries, and later teaching for local government, where I also developed educational resources and was involved in award winning educational events for young people.
I’m a mum to 2 brilliantly creative girls, and Dinky Doodlers has definitely grown with them: from the preschool art and younger art sessions that were my focus while they were little, to middle school and Secondary Art Clubs as they grew older. Currently studying A level Textiles, and GCSE Fine Art - my girls now make up part of the small dedicated team of talented helpers who provide extra support in the Art Room during my sessions. So I guess it's a bit of a family business at times!

My name is Dinky Bear,
I am the much loved mascot of the Dinky Doodlers pre-school art classes. I'm always there to greet the children at the start of our classes and I love saying hello to everyone and joining in with the songs - although sometimes I need some help from the children to wake up!!
I love nothing more than joining in with the activities, and usually end up with a few more splatters of paint every time or splashed with whatever exciting sensory materials are featured each week.
My most important job is to help make our preschool children feel right at home - and I'm always on hand for cuddles or to offer my artistic talents when a Dinky Doodler needs me! I look forward to meeting you at one of our classes soon!
