My name is Laura,
I'm a mum to two girls who both love getting creative - in fact my daughters think access to paint, glue and watercolours is a basic human right! So it's just as well that my work life involves an abundance of colourful papers, paint and so many exciting materials (although keeping inquisitive hands away from my very own "Mister Maker" style storage drawers can be a challenge!)
Much of my working life has been spent in creative industries, and later teaching for local government and developing educational resources. In my spare time I am also an avid dressmaker and love working with textiles - although woodworking and printmaking have long been favourites of mine! I have been running Dinky Doodlers for over 10 years and lead the Art Clubs for 6-12 year olds. I absolutely love working with all our young artists each week and seeing them grow in confidence with their creations - the art room is definitely my happy space! We're not a franchise - just a tiny independent business with a genuine passion for inspiring children's creativity. I love developing art projects that all our class members will enjoy exploring - from our youngest makers developing their fine motor skills and embarking on initial mark making, to our older children learning about different artists, flexing their creative muscles and growing in artistic independence. So no matter what stage your child is at on their creative journey - you can be sure that we'll be there to support and inspire them!

My name is Charlotte,
Like Laura, I have two daughters who spend a lot of their time up to their elbows (and sometimes feet, knees and faces!) in paint, glue and all things crafty, so they love being my 'testers' for art projects! As a long time attendee of Laura's classes with both of my girls I knew first-hand just how fun & inspiring Dinky Doodlers sessions are - so when an opportunity arose for me to teach the pre-school classes I just had to dive in! Having worked for a local baby swimming company for a number of years, I know that teaching children new skills and watching their confidence grow is an amazing feeling and definitely one of the best ways to spend a working day! I love sharing the fun and gently guiding our mini makers as they try out new skills, explore new materials for the first time, and relax into their creativity - not worrying about getting their hands messy! Of course the real highlight for me is getting to work so closely with the legendary Dinky Bear - who doesn't love spending time with that painty teddy?! |
My name is Dinky Bear,
I am the much loved mascot of the Dinky Doodlers pre-school art classes. I'm always there to greet the children at the start of our classes and I love saying hello to everyone and joining in with the songs - although sometimes I need some help from the children to wake up!!
I love nothing more than joining in with the activities, and usually end up with a few more splatters of paint every time or splashed with whatever exciting sensory materials are featured each week.
My most important job is to help make the children feel right at home - and I'm always on hand for cuddles or to offer my artistic talents when a Dinky Doodler needs me! I look forward to meeting you at one of our classes soon!
